TV and internet reign in Singapore

Eight in ten Singaporeans regularly watch television and use the internet according to the Nielsen Singapore Media Index Report.

Released on Nov. 7, the report reveals that of the 4,700 people aged 15 and above that were surveyed around 80% watch television and watch free-to-air on a weekly basis.

The rate of internet usage is rising among older people too with 72.9% of respondents over the age of 45 had been online during October.

The three most popular activities online were instant messaging, followed by watching television and movies as well as social networking.
